There are many different approaches to conflict resolution and at Collective Deliberation, the narrative approach is most commonly used. This process showcases a range of perspectives, builds relationships, and allows the participants better understand not only the issue at hand but the events surrounding the issue.
Coupling the narrative with the use of reflective listening allows people to actively listen to one another. Listening is the basis of effective communication. We have found that this unique approach fosters the spirit of compromise so participants can identify and discuss the issue, work towards a resolution, and create an agreement that is durable and long-lasting.
Our mediators create a confidential space, make keen observations and identify the issues and interests of the participants for effective conflict resolution.
During mediation, our mediators maintain neutrality, preserve trust, and empower participants to reach mutually respected agreements.
